What's next, what's next.
132x225mm, 2p, 200 books, Installation, print on paper, cover coating, 2024
This work is an experiment on how the compression of language evokes certain emotions. It focuses on the first and last sentences of world-famous novels, examining how readers experience and understand a text when they first encounter it and when they finish it. 200 books from the Minumsa World Literature Series were selected, and research was conducted on the first and last sentences of each book. The book consists of a single page containing only the first and last sentences of the series. By compressing the book into just two sentences, it presents the original text in a new form. In the "Compressed Series," by removing and selecting text, the first and last sentences of the world literature collection can be viewed in a different light.

Text to Text

Text to Text is a linguistic and physical experimental work based on the concept of “intertextuality.” By applying the idea that “one text is connected to all texts,” the physical distance between each word in a text-based dictionary is marked. Starting with the word “text” in an 814-page English dictionary, the last word of the first definition of each word is selected, and a rule is applied to connect the two words by their physical distance with a line. When the pages are bound together or separated into individual sheets, these lines transform into an indeterminate state, much like language itself. Furthermore, according to the rules, the selected texts take the form of word collections or poems. Based on the fundamental idea that all languages are connected, this book is continually being created.

Collection: British Museum
100x134mm
654page
2022
ISBN 979-11-976311-1-5
This book is based on the looting reports from the British Museum during the period of 1933-1945, the time of World War II, and documents the looted artifacts through drawings. The artifacts, whose original meanings were distorted or damaged due to British plunder, were collected, interpreted, and represented graphically. In addition, the information about each looted artifact is provided alongside the drawings.
Museum collections are an important representation of an institution’s history and perspective. Most of the British Museum's collection was formed through looting, which contradicts their claim of being a "museum for the world." This contradiction is highlighted through the inclusion of titles and notes on every page. The work seeks to reexamine the fundamental meaning and history of museum collections.

The hand dance
Series1 vol.1, vol.2
310×210mm, 32p, Risograph print
on paper, 2022
The Hand Dance is a book that captures the hand gestures used by politicians during speeches and prints them through lithography. This work involves selecting globally remembered presidents, celebrities, and key events, and analyzing their hand movements in speech videos.
Each gesture encapsulates the language and time of the moment, raising questions about the current issues and their outcomes. Promises and language made for political purposes or personal desires are often used to read the expressions and minds of the audience in order to lead them in a favorable direction. However, despite these speeches, languages, gestures, and hand movements containing political claims, they often distort the truth or function as deceit.

The Waste Land, T.S. Eliot
152×215×68mm, 1,288pages, hardcover, 2024
The Waste Land, T.S. Eliot(The Waste Land as a Dictionary) is a book created by deconstructing all the words used in T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land and then reorganizing them in alphabetical order from A to Z. Using a dictionary, only the words and their definitions included in the poem are retained, while the rest is deleted, leaving empty spaces. This is known as ‘The Waste Land as a Dictionary,’ ‘The Dictionary of The Waste Land,’ or ‘The Dictionary Poem.’
T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land is a 1,520-word poem set against the backdrop of social and political chaos and moral collapse following World War I. The words and their dictionary meanings left in the work are everyday terms that persist amid societal and political turmoil.
The spaces left in the dictionary, excluding the words, disrupt the flow between words and create a rhythm, thereby helping to reinterpret the ‘Dictionary Poem’ in a different way.
